About the Campaign
Kitten in an intersection!
Rescued out of the street, where a truck missed him by less than an inch, he had a bloody nose and was covered in fleas.
Little Ash is maybe 5 weeks old? On Wednesday (Sept 3rd) Kelli was driving her kids home when one of them pointed out “Mommy! There is a kitty in the road!” Little grey Ash was almost blending in to the street, right in the middle of an intersection.
Kelli managed to get him, and into a box she had real quick (above) and then home. He had a blood on his nose as you can see if you look close, but that was probably a scratch on the outside, because once she washed it off it has not come back.
Kelli called the local shelters and they all told her they are overloaded with cats. She’s bathed him to get the fleas under control, but he has patchy spots on his fur that might be ring-worm and he has worms as well. Kelli is afraid if she takes him to the shelter, he will just be put to sleep. She knows what she is doing and has had a bottle for feeding, though now he is taking soft kitten food. Also, Kelli will adopt him!
The problem is that she just got a job after five months of unemployment, literally has not even gotten her first paycheck yet. Ash needs to get to the vet for a look over, vaccines, deworming, and a check of that ring-worm. We think about $200 will cover it, obviously if something serious is found we will come back with another fundraiser for that, but Ash is walking around and eating and drinking well, so we are pretty hopeful he is healthy other than his conditions due to neglect.
All donations are specifically for Ash, to get to the vet and get basic care. We only pay the donations directly to the vet, and if the donations are not used, they are refunded.
