About the Campaign
Big Bladder Stones!
Akira is a 4-year-old Siberian Husky with two massive bladder stones. She’s been peeing blood, straining to urinate, and crying from discomfort. This is painful now, and it can turn into an emergency if the stones shift and block her ability to pee.
A recent exam found two large masses in Akira’s bladder that are strongly suspected to be stones. Because of their size, they’re not expected to dissolve or pass on their own. The recommended solution is surgery to remove them so Akira can urinate normally and finally get relief.
Jessica has been trying to get Akira help everywhere she can. A friend already stepped in and paid $500 for the initial emergency visit that got Akira diagnosed. Since then, Jessica has been calling clinics and going from vet to vet, trying to find a place that can treat Akira without an impossible upfront deposit.
Akira is new to Jessica’s life, but not to her heart. Jessica rescued her from a Craigslist situation where the previous family said they planned to euthanize her for being “aggressive.” Instead, Akira has been gentle and sweet—just a dog who seems like she hadn’t been treated kindly before and needed someone to choose her.
Jessica is rebuilding her life after years of instability and is currently living in Section 8 housing while searching for remote work. She lives alone, manages serious health challenges, and simply doesn’t have the funds to cover surgery on her own.
Akira deserves a chance to heal and live pain-free. If you can help, your donation will go toward the surgery and related veterinary care to remove Akira’s bladder stones and get her comfortable again. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:

This poor dog cannot wait 2 more weeks for surgery. This is a bad situation. Can’t this vet do the surgery while you keep fund raising??? One of my dogs had bladder stones and it turned into an emergency. Poor baby!
