About the Campaign
Also known as Addie,
is she the best dog ever?
We are getting strong YES vibes!!
Addie was rescued by a fantastic rescuer, Stephani Rizo, in San Diego about 4 years ago. Addie was a Craigslist dog, and if you don’t know, a lot of dogs given away on Craigslist end up in bad situations. The person who had bought Addie as a puppy could no longer handle her, now that she had grown up, and was giving her away. Stephani stepped in, rescued her!
Originally the plan was to get Addie adopted out, but Stephani grew so attached to her, well… you know what happens!
Stephani and Addie
Now how did Addie also come to be called ADT (which, if you say A D T fast sounds almost like Addie)? Because she is so big, and thus great security, like the ADT Security Company! But actually, Addie is a sweetheart and a softie. And smart!
Addie has become a mascot for Free Animal Doctor in San Diego, but also a genuine helper of other dogs! Yes, she does so well with other abused and neglected dogs that come into the rescue, helping them get along with the pack, learn to trust people, and feel secure on Stephani’s rescue dog walks. Yes, multiple times a week Stephani and Addie take rescue dogs for a walk in San Diego with other people, so these rescued dogs can learn to trust again and become more adoptable and social! You can find out more about it, and even attend, click HERE!
So what is going on?
Addie tore her CCL (like the ACL in people). It is the ligament in the knee, and in dogs it cannot heal on it’s own, surgery is required. It is especially necessary with a large dog like Addie. Now her knee is very painful, and she has trouble walking. Many days she cannot attend the rescue dog walks she LOVES to do! Let’s get this great dog healed up and walking like the queen she is again. She has helped so many, and now she needs our help!
All donations are for Addie, and will be paid right to her vet for her knee (TPLO) surgery, so let’s get this done for her now WOOOOOOF!!

We were blessed recently with funds from this website for our dog Kènai. We would like to do the same for another large dog that has a similar problem.
God bless you and Addie!

This past week I got caught up helping a homeless guy with 8 dogs living in a car. Due to a distemper outbreak the shelter couldn’t help. Money was needed for transport, boarding, food etc and donations wasn’t coming in. There was a brief moment of bitterness as I paid from my personal funds despite knowing Adt was in pain and waiting on this surgery, when I got a text saying her campaign had been funded. When I had last checked she still had such a long way to go. There’s no holidays in rescue, and moments I think how normal people celebrate the holidays. When I started rescue I had this motto, just do good and all would come together. But this blind faith has become challenging. It’s Christmas morning and I’m outside watching the sunrise with Adt. I wanted to jump on here and thank each of you. What I’m seeing is definitely unexpected and a bit shocking. I’m literally overcome with emotion and gratitude. I have a pack walk here in a bit, that I host for this wonderful organization so I need to get it together, and not be a blubbering mess. Thank you all for your help with Adt, she will be co-hosting with me again soon. Thank you for restoring my faith in believing things come together when you do good. And to the anonymous donor, who came in at the last minute, I’m at a loss for words as everything seems to fall short in conveying what I’m feeling right now.
Merry Christmas to you all. Thank you for making this world a better place.
