Stomach Blockage
Ace, a two-year-old Pitbull, swallowed a rubber water ball while playing near the pool. Now it’s lodged in his stomach, absorbing liquid and growing too large to pass or vomit up. An ultrasound confirmed the ball is stuck, and surgery is the only way to remove it. For now, Ace is still able to pee and poop, but without surgery this blockage will continue to cause pain and could become life-threatening.
Brittney, Ace’s owner, has been by his side since the day he was born. She was there when his mother gave birth and waited five weeks to finally bring Ace home. Out of all the puppies, he kept finding his way back to her—and from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable. In fact, when Brittney was homeless, she and Ace lived together in a hammock, giving each other comfort, responsibility, and protection through those difficult months.
Today, Ace remains her loyal companion and best friend. But surgery to remove the ball is estimated at $3,000—an impossible amount for Brittney to cover on her own. She already spent what she had saved for a car on Ace’s ultrasound, and as a part-time janitor barely covering bills, there’s no way to pay for the operation. On top of that, she’s been dealing with her own health issues, including painful dental surgery.
Ace has always been there for Brittney. Now she’s fighting back tears, desperate not to lose him. With your help, Ace can get the surgery he needs, recover, and go back to being the happy, playful dog he’s meant to be. We do not have a written estimate, but the ER gave Brittney a verbal guess-estimate.
